Coastal Aviation is known for its wide flying safari network, which reaches 44 places and can reach the most distant sections of the region, thanks to its more than 30 years of experience. The Coastal Flying Safari is a one-of-a-kind safari adventure that takes you off the main path and deep into the remote corners of Tanzania's famed national parks.
Airlines bear a significant amount of environmental responsibility and must act more responsibly. At Coastal, that dawning reality has reached us, and we are proud to make pledges to begin our green path. We shall embrace environmentally friendly behaviors in the hopes of having a greater beneficial impact on our environment and reducing harm to our globe.
A private flight is one that is specifically customized to the needs of the passengers. The service is completely personalized. Any private flight can be enhanced with a sightseeing excursion.
Clients' favorite recollections from Africa are the stunning scenery. On a private charter, you might choose to devote portion of your flight time to sightseeing of natural attractions.
Coastal began in 1987 as an inbound operator offering “Personalized Safaris & Air Charters” to the tourism market, which was relatively thin at the time. It was founded by brilliant entrepreneur Nicola Colangelo. The original Coastal fleet consisted of one Cessna 206T aircraft and three big Dhows, which are typical East African small sailing boats. Sailing to Zanzibar became a business for faster-powered boats as the country's economy developed. Coastal Aviation chose to concentrate on the aviation element of the business, but kept the Dhow at sunset as part of the logo to recall our romantic beginnings.
Coastal Aviation now has 16 Cessna Grand Caravan C208B and 6 Pilatus PC-12/45 aircraft in its fleet. In 2019, we transported over 150,000 people across about 100 airstrips, some of which were located in some of East Africa's most remote areas. Along with its operations, the company has expanded to include offices and bases in Tanzania's major cities, including Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Arusha, and Mwanza, with over 300 employees.
Safety is our key Value.
"All our flights are operated with two pilots in Multi-Crew Coordination. We have been working very hard on reinforcing our safety culture within Coastal and are making huge strides. We have made great progress on MCC which was launched on 1st December 2018. MCC is Multi Crew Coordination, 2 crew members trained and assessed to work as a team in the cockpit to promote safety. Our crews have normalized with working in this new paradigm, more akin to the major international airlines."
Passengers are allowed a maximum of 15kg (33lbs) of luggage per person, including carry-on bags. Soft bags are strongly suggested but not required. Excess luggage is carried at the Company's sole discretion, taking into account the aircraft being used and the maximum weight that can be carried.
We do not have sophisticated RFID baggage tags like huge airlines; yet, we can assist you in transporting your bags; nonetheless, please keep account of how they are loaded and unloaded at the various airstrips.
Additional luggage will be charged at the current rate. The pilot has sole discretion over the maximum load permissible or any other flight condition.
The cargo pod door measurements are: 76cm x 48cm x 29cm (30” x 19” x 11”). If your bag is larger that that, we won’t be able to get it through the door of the cargo pod. Maximum weight: 15kg (33lbs) .
Please make sure you adhere to the minimum Check-in Time on your ticket. The Flight will be deemed to be closed 15 minutes before the departure time and any late passenger may be considered a NO SHOW.
