In Bahrain, you can normally anticipate exciting racing and plenty of overtaking, but drivers must cope with wind, racing under floodlights, and the challenge of establishing a good set-up due to the significant temperature swings between sessions. The tight, downhill, off-camber Turn 10 left-hander is the track's most difficult section, while the quick run through Turn 12 is another highlight, letting drivers to truly feel their vehicles come alive.
Because the organizers obviously don't want spectators to have to trek out into the middle of a scorching desert to witness the sport, your options are somewhat restricted in Bahrain. We think getting a seat in the Batelco grandstand is your best chance, as it will give you a terrific perspective of vehicles rushing into Turn 8, pounding through 9 and 10, and then passing you on the run down to the short-apex Turn 11. Otherwise, you may see plenty of overtaking on any track layout from the grandstand on the outside of Turns 1 and 2.
Racegoers in Bahrain have a good possibility of being treated to a 'duel in the desert' or three owing to the layout of the course. Away from the racetrack, Bahrain, as you might assume, is a fantastic spot to get some rays, with some spectacular resorts dotting the 33-island archipelago monarchy. If you want to try your hand at racing, the Bahrain International Karting Circuit, which is immediately next to the track, is one of the best in the world.
