We'll show you a liar if you show us a racing driver who doesn't enjoy Suzuka. The high-speed circuit remains one of the ultimate driving challenges, with the twisting ‘S’ Curves, the two commitment-rewarding Degners and the white-knuckle ride of 130R all highlights in a succession of highlights at what is one of F1’s foundational tracks. And, hey, there's a crossover, which is always a plus.
Pick your poison. The 'S' Curves are visible from Grandstands D and E, providing an incredible opportunity to observe downforce and commitment work in perfect unison as the drivers negotiate the serpentine curves. Other options are Grandstand G's left flank, which puts you on the inside of 130R, which should be a pleasure, and Grandstand I, which gives you a view of the incident-prone Hairpin.
A circuit with an unfair share of classic F1 events (not least between Messrs Prost and Senna), a unique group of fans who are unabashedly dedicated to playing Formula 1 dress-up, a Ferris wheel, and fantastic cuisine. Okay, it'll take a long time for most of us to get there, but surely a better question is, "Why not go?"
