When looking at a track map, the legendary Turn 3, a 750m constant-radius left-hander that takes the drivers around the outside of the stunning Poyushchiye fountain, is hard to miss. The remainder of the circuit has a sequence of 90-degree curves interspersed with some fast, flowing straights that aren't straight.
Take a seat in the Turn 2 grandstand – or the T2 Grandstand Vitaly Petrov, as it's officially known – to witness the track's finest overtaking area before the cars re-accelerate and slingshot into Turn 3.
Sochi, with its great location on the Black Sea, is one of Russia's best beach destinations in the summer, and the race's early fall date should ensure that you can work on your tan. If the city's Winter Olympics inspired you, though, you're out of luck because the ski season in the resorts near Sochi doesn't start until December.
